YAKIMA, Wash. - The streak has reached a nice round number.
The Eugene Emeralds beat Yakima 8-1 in a Northwest League baseball game Sunday to complete a five-game sweep of the Bears and extend their franchise-best winning streak to 10 games.
The leage's record winning streak is 13, achieved twice.
The Emeralds begin a three-game series at Salem-Keizer today, and if they sweep the Volcanoes they would return to Eugene on Thursday with a chance to break the record.
Yakima, which has now lost 11 straight games, didn't put up much of a fight.
