* A group called Vox Clara has to find a new executive secretary for the International Commission on English in the Liturgy because ICEL wanted translators to make ideas accessible in English? We shouldn't understand what we are praying for and about? Ideas that are accessible cloud doctrine? That group, described in the July 5 NCR, isn't a Vox Clara, it's a Vox Obscura. The Vatican fails to understand that, as one person here in Los Angeles said, "We are the faithful still but sheep no more." Let's see if the American bishops have the courage to so inform the Vatican.
