Before addressing hundreds of people Friday night at RiverCentre in downtown St. Paul, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani reflected on a week crowded with personal headlines: the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, his mother's passing, even his new hairstyle.
"It's been a very difficult week because we had to relive the events of Sept. 11 ... but in a way it was great, because we got through it," he said at a pre-speech reception. "This country's still here and we're still very, very strong ... and we're still the one place that people want to come to in the whole world."
