The "new" Warner Bros. network sitcom "Family Affair" begins with a shot of the New York City skyline - as if to emphasize that both this remake and the original series 35 years ago take place in a universe without the World Trade Center.
It also includes a laugh track, as if to insist that nothing has changed in TV over the last three decades - or maybe that's just to clue viewers in to when the ultra-dry Tim Curry is being funny.
