Stephen Enea of Utica watched helplessly as his dream of starting an airline slipped away last week.
"I have nothing left," said Enea, a Greek Orthodox priest.
Thomas Ashwood, the man he hired two years ago to be president and chief operating officer of his Legacy Airlines, left the company a month ago. He had never drawn a salary from Legacy, which has not flown a single flight.
Last week, Ashwood, a former Royal Air Force and commercial airline pilot, emerged as a member of the management team of another hopeful start-up carrier in Syracuse. The new operation does not have a name yet.
