Tim Stowers would much prefer to face an undefeated Syracuse University football team than a winless one.
Yep, the third-year head coach of Division I-AA Rhode Island, which will play the Orangemen at 3:30 p.m. today in the Carrier Dome, was rooting for SU to defeat Brigham Young in the opener and North Carolina last week. They lost both games and looked bad doing so.
"Now, it doesn't matter who their next opponent is," Stowers said. "They will be extremely motivated."
SU's next opponent is Stowers' Rams, who are coming off a 37-19 loss at Hofstra. The Rams, a member of the Atlantic 10, are 3-18 vs. ...
