Expectations at Western Branch are sky high. Literally.
Several times during the Bruins' Aug. 23 scrimmage at Kempsville, a small plane passed overhead flashing the ultimatum "Bruins: Richmond 2002 Nothing Else."
The plane's message was not an isolated opinion. The Bruins' support personnel all wore T-shirts brandishing the same thing.
Richmond, of course, is the site of the state championship game, something Western Branch has never had a whiff of in its 33-year history.
The Bruins have had some good teams and some great players. Dre Bly, Shyrone Stith and Keith Burnell come quickly to mind.
