Professional hair care sales to top $1 billion sales mark
CDR Roundup--The exploding professional hair care market is projected by one source to reach $1 billion this year at retail, with drug chains generating 60% of sales. The category has experienced nearly 40% growth annually since 1984's $200 million level. And it has become a substantial contributor to the multibillion-dollar overall hair care market, according to Gobi-Primak Inc. vice president of sales Joe Pataffi, whose East Brunswick, N.J.-based company distributes salon product lines in 13 states in the Northeast.
