Promotions keep ball rolling at Toy Box
Special events, advertising keep family-owned chain in the forefront
Trace the shape of an egg on a large piece of paper and you're ready to hatch an Easter promotion that can boost traffic and sales and furnish unique seasonal decorations.
Steve Alwais explains how it was done at the San Antonio, Tex.-based Toy Box chain this year: "We drew an egg shape and had about 300 of them die-cut in white cardboard at a cost of $750." The Easter egg promotion cost totally about $3,000, or $220 per store. Toy Box has five stores in San Antonio and two in Austin.
