Hamamatsu Corp. introduces a G8931-03 InGaAs avalanche photodiode (APD) designed for use in high-speed optical fiber communications networks, such as Gigabit Ethernet and SONET/SDH. Featuring high reliability, high-speed response, low capacitance and low noise, the G8931-03 assures high-quality data transmission over the 1.3 1/1.55 [micro]m bands.
The G8931-03 can operate up to 2.5 Gbps, allowing the APD to accommodate conventional optical networks. It has low terminal capacitance of 0.3 pF, minimum photosensitivity of 7.3 A/W at GAIn of 10, and typical dark ...
