What do you think the reaction would be of a proud car owner when he realized that, after two years, his dashboard has begun to fade? The sun not only heats up the car interior, but its UV rays accelerate the aging process of materials. UV radiation causes a degradation of the pigments and resin systems in the plastic compounds, resulting in a different appearance; colors change (glossy parts become dull and matte), lighter spots appear, and other areas fade or yellow.
