The Certification Board Perioperative Nursing (CBPN) Test Specifications Committee met in Denver in October 2001 to update the job analysis for certified perioperative nurses. The CBPN is charged by its accrediting agencies with evaluating the certification examination process every five years. The last job analysis study was performed in 1997. The results of job analysis studies are used as a guide to develop future CNOR examinations.
Working under the direction of a testing agency, CBPN conducted a comprehensive analysis of the perioperative role as it is practiced today and addressed the current and future needs of the profession. The committee focused on a ...
