Gilead Sciences (Nasdaq:GILD) today announced that it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its antiviral agent Hepsera(TM) (adefovir dipivoxil) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. The drug will be shipped to wholesalers early next week.
