The Melbourne Ramada hotel is set to open in October 2002. It will be the first time the Ramada brand name has been used in Australia for five years. Hotel owner Marriott plans to revive the Ramada name by establishing a chain of up to 30 hotels throughout Australia. The first of these would probably be located in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
