LABOUR will return to the gaudy seaside resort of Blackpool next week for its annual party conference. It is the first time in four years that the event has been held in the north-west town.
The state of the hotels and general otirednesso of the place had been cited as a contributory factor in Labour opting for Bournemouth and Brighton in recent years. As a result, Blackpool has tried to smarten itself up and the government is doing its bit to help.
