A Cook County judge approved a $1 million settlement Wednesday for two men seriously injured when an inflatable golf dome collapsed in 1999 at a facility operated by the Hoffman Estates Park District.
The settlement will be paid by Hoffman Estates Golf Dome Inc., the company supervising about 30 people who were deflating the Poplar Creek Golf Course dome for the season when the accident occurred.
"They're happy about the settlements, but they'd rather be healthy," said Steven J. Flexman, an attorney representing Malcolm Rucker of Chicago and Heriberto Colin of Bartlett.
