No deal in Natchez
When Adams County supervisors stopped negotiations between county-owned Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital and privately-owned Humana Hospital-Natchez last month, they may have started a war for patients that could severely wound both facilities.
It's a reverse of the situation in Hinds County, where supervisors are now considering a bid by Methodist Health Systems of Memphis to lease county-owned Hinds General Hospital.
Jefferson Davis officials wanted to buy the private hospital, saying a consolidation of the two hospitals is a smart business move that will ensure continued quality healthcare for Natchez as well as a healthy ...
