Manchester, England (Sports Network) - Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is preparing to welcome back defender Gary Neville for the Group F match against Bayer Leverkusen -- last season's finalist -- when the Champions League resumes first-round action Tuesday.
Indications are the England right back will make a record 69th Champions League appearance at Old Trafford. Neville made his comeback from injury as a substitute in United's 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. If not a watershed, it was certainly a restorative result for United following its worst league start in 10 years.
