Two of the most eagerly awaited new shows of the season debut at the beginning and the end of the weekend - and both go from ballyhooed to belly flops.
"Firefly" is a tongue-in-cheek outer-space drama from Joss Whedon, creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." "CSI: Miami" opens a new franchise branching off from the popular original "CSI" set in Las Vegas. Both look to be as close to sure things as there is in television.
Yet both turn out to be major disappointments. It might be worth remembering that "Buffy" and especially "CSI" took a few episodes to find their rhythms, but both "Firefly" and ...
