This is Volume 11 of the Studies in the History of Civil Engineering series published by Ashgate. Frank Newby introduces the subject with a 22-page essay, and then reprints 16 papers. Apart from a paper presented by W. K. Hyatt in 1916, they were all published after 1962, and mainly in 1990s.
