THEY SAY CHICK HEARN WAS MANY THINGS: LIVING link between ever-changing Laker teams; soundtrack to the memory of generations; a fan's best friend; the NBA's most influential broadcaster; the players' father, uncle, brother.
Chick was also, to appropriate a phrase a Laker once used in another context, a guy with no lock on his mouth. Chick Hearn said what came to mind.
