Bicron's dream set to blast off
It's been a two-year wait, but this fall, the end product of a company in tiny Newbury is scheduled to play a big role in space research designed to unlock some of the mysteries of the universe.
When the National Aeronautics and Space Administration launches its Gamma Ray Observatory into space, several thousand pounds of radiation-detection crystals produced by Bicron Corp. will be an integral part of the mission. The crystals will be used in three of the four scientific experiments which will be conducted aboard the 17-ton spacecraft.
