Prototyping tools for plant modelling and simulation
The modelling and simulation of large scale power plant is well established within the electricity supply industry. Plant models are represented in terms of non-linear differential and algebraic equations. Programs have been developed for the solution of these classes of problems and are extensively used within National Power. Owing to the complexity of the plant and the level of detail used in the models the resulting systems frequently consist of large order sets of equations with a correspondingly large number of variables to be analysed.
