EVERYONE knows somebody with eczema. The symptoms of dry, red skin and inflammation may seem innocuous enough to non-sufferers, but many people do not realise that the impact of the condition can extend far beyond a permanent feeling of itchiness.
Eczema can limit many aspects of a sufferer's life, from the trivial, such as the choice of decor at home, to more far-reaching effects, including diet and career choices. In the worst cases, the condition can also trigger insomnia and depression. Relentlessly irritating skin can be only part of it.
