Time was, in the 1970s, when Peter Lang could give fellow acoustic guitar pickers such as Robbie Basho, John Fahey and Leo Kottke a real run for the money. But after two or three poorly distributed albums, Lang walked away from the music business. Yet, as this soulful, self-produced release reveals, he never stopped writing for or playing his guitar. That melodically rich, engrossing magic is still all over the place even though it's been a quarter century since his last studio sessions.
