SCEcorp creeps ever so slowly toward a merger with San Diego Gas and Electric
This may be the merger that was never meant to be. Indeed, another year is likely to pass before regulatory agencies approve or disapprove SCEcorp's proposed merger with San Diego Gas and Electric, and, even then, John Van de Kamp's office may appeal the decision.
The California State Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial hopeful last week issued a 65-page explanation of how the merger -- creating the largest utility in the nation -- would violate antitrust laws.
