Article: CAR SALES IN INDONESIA ESTIMATED AT 315,000 UNITS THIS YEAR.

JAKARTA, Sept 26 Asia Pulse - The Indonesian Automotive Industries Association (Gaikindo) has predicted that until the end of 2002 the total number of cars its members have sold would reach 315,000.

"In the last three months, sales have been rather stagnant reaching only 27,000 units, so that we estimated that car sales until the end of the year would range from 315 thousand to 320,000 units," chairman of Gaikindo Bambang Trisulo said here Wednesday.

In the June to August period, car sales reached respectively 27,125 units, 26,904 units and 27,338 units, while in September 2002 car sales may reach only 27,000 units.
