ORANGE, Calif. _ Two competing hospitals are forming a company to consolidate and expand pediatric care in Orange County.
The Children and Families Commission of Orange County will announce Monday that it has approved this move by UCI Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Orange County. The commission will fund the new non-profit with funds from Proposition 10 money _ $28.5 million this year and $81 million over the next three years. The company still awaits approval by CHOC's board of directors and the UC Regents.
The venture will combine expertise from both hospitals. For example, pediatric psychologists from CHOC will join UCI's autism clinic. The ...
