New cable network to air 13 languages
International Television Group Inc., parent company of foreign language stations KSCI-TV Los Angeles and KHAI-TV Honolulu, will launch a new national, 24-hour multi-language basic cable network in July. The announcement was made last week by Ray Beindorf, ITG chairman and president.
The new network, which will be called the International Channel, will feature programming in 13 languages with particular emphasis on programming for the Asian-American population. The languages to be featured are: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Tagalog, French, Italian, Hebrew, Armenian, Farsi, Arabic and Hindi.
