Sep. 29--AT&T-Pennsylvania President Jim Ginty, in the words of a former telephone industry competitor, is a "recovering monopolist."
That came from Chip Casteel, the former vice president of law and public policy at WorldCom Inc., and was meant in jest. But it also contains more than a little truth.
Much has changed in Ginty's 25 years with AT&T. He is the first to admit that as he prepares to retire this week.
