* Amid resignation rumors, Rev. Jesse Jackson (pictured above) has released a statement asserting that he has no plans to step down as president of the Rainbow/Push Coalition. The rumors arose after Jackson made a speech reiterating that Rev. James T. Meeks would be his successor when he did decide to leave his post as president of the Coalition.
