PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local CAEMI MINERACAO E METALURGICA SA currently produces some 30 million tons per year (t/y) of iron ore. However, the company is now said to be considering the construction of a new iron ore mine. The Capao Xavier deposit in question, located in the southern state of Minas Gerais, reportedly contains an estimated 140 million metric tons of reserves.
