HARTFORD, Conn., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Adults in large numbers are putting their homes -- and their lives - in danger. A survey sponsored by The Hartford Financial Services Group found that 28 percent of those queried had disconnected smoke alarms in their homes and then failed to reconnect them right away.
This behavior makes people extremely vulnerable to the devastating effects of home fires, says The Hartford, a leading provider of homeowners insurance. The company released its findings in advance of Fire Prevention Week, which is held this year October 6 through 12.
