NAGS HEAD -- Centennial Park has finally moved beyond a concept into a draft plan, with the Dare County Centennial Steering Committee getting its first peek on Thursday at the marketplace proposed to serve visitors during the First Flight Centennial celebrations in December 2003.
The 8-acre site, at the county's recreation park, is intended to provide an outlet for people to enjoy some Outer Banks food, buy souvenirs and be entertained between stops at the festivities at Wright Brothers National Memorial across the road.
