The online library catalog is undergoing a grand metamorphosis. Projects and discussions taking place worldwide are exploring new models for catalogs. New features and capabilities will transform the catalog into a full-fledged information utility. This transformation will enable the library to provide information services in innovative and effective ways and may ultimately alter the nature of library service.
