The Twins' tentative playoff plan is to use Michael Cuddyer as their starting right fielder, Matthew LeCroy as an occasional designated hitter and Bobby Kielty off the bench.
In the playoffs, they hope to overcome quality lefthanders and hear deafening cheers in the Metrodome from fans waving Homer Hankies as Eddie Guardado heads to the mound.
The Twins didn't have to settle for such anticipation Saturday. They beat the Chicago White Sox and lefthanded ace Mark Buehrle 3-2 before 32,072 fans as Cuddyer, LeCroy, Kielty and Guardado did exactly what the Twins want them to do next week. ...
