WHEN IT COMES to successful global brands, Nivea is out of this world. In fact, parent company Beiersdorf insists it is the most successful personal care brand on the planet. The global appeal of Nivea helped Beiersdorf's corporate sales increase more than 10% last year to nearly $4 billion. Sales within the cosmed division, which includes cosmetics and toiletries, jumped more than 14% to nearly $2.6 billion. Nivea contributed greatly to this performante, growing by 17% to achieve worldwide sales of $2.2 billion.
