Calling upon corporate sponsors and Bartlett residents, a new Bartlett Park District foundation will fund scholarships, buy paintings and sculptures to enhance buildings and offer seminars - all part of an ambitious program to support the park district's work.
The Bartlett Parks Foundation, a group run independently of the park district, said it hopes to pick up the loose financial strings of the park district, said Commissioner Ted Lewis.
That work might include setting up a fund for local residents who can't afford the program fees, he said.
