PD readies new edition to take on News-Herald
In an effort to halt declining circulation and build advertising revenue, The Plain Dealer is launching a full-throttle assault on the Lake County News-Herald, the growing daily covering Lake, Geauga and eastern Cuyahoga counties.
The PD is planning to premiere a daily zoned edition May 14 that will target coverage in Lake and Geauga counties and compete head-to-head with the News-Herald. The zoned paper is aimed primarily at winning over Lake County readers and advertisers.
To support the new edition, a staff of 10 PD reporters will be housed in a new bureau in Mentor. The PD edition will include ...
