MILAN -- Despite the world economic slowdown and anxiety over a possible war in Iraq, mills showing at Italy's unofficial textile week last week were overwhelmingly positive, expressing satisfaction with fair traffic and optimism for 2003.
For the first time, three of Italy's major fabric shows -- Prato Expo, Shirt Avenue and Moda In -- showed back-to-back in an effort to attract and facilitate more foreign foot traffic. The strategy paid off, with turnout up at all three events.
