The Marine Corps is preparing to launch its program for the acquisition of an Expeditionary Fire Support System to provide close support indirect fires for Marine infantry with an industry day planned to take place later this month or next.
"The Marine Corps has a Mission Need Statement (MNS) for an Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS) that will provide all-weather, ground-based, close supporting, accurate, immediately responsive, and lethal indirect fire support for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force," according to a Sept. 29 notice released by the Marine Corps Systems Command in Federal Business Opportunities.
