French securities agency probes Tapie
PARIS (FNS) - Bernard Tapie Finance, owned by the French investor who has agreed to buy 80 percent of Adidas AG, late last week fell under an insider trading investigation by the French equivalent of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The investigation does not affect Bernard Tapie's purchase of an 80-percent stakein Adida AG, according to a spokesman for Bernard Tapie Finance.
Erwin Conradi, president of Metro International AG, told FN his Swiss-based discount retail company is negotiating with Tapie to sell him Metro's option to buy between 10 and 20 percent of the remaining Adidas AG stock.
