Q. Is now the time to plant bulbs? How deep should they go, and should I add anything to the soil? What varieties are ideal for this area?
A. It is, indeed, time to plant spring-blooming bulbs, in spite of the hot weather. If you prepare good beds and plant the right selection of bulbs at the correct depth, you can enjoy a long spring blooming extravaganza. A good selection of bulbs can be found in nurseries now.
