Detroit's newest prospective retailer, Davenport, Iowa-based Von Maur Inc., expects to open two high-fashion department stores by next fall in former Jacobson's stores at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor and Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia.
Jim von Maur, president of the company, said both locations are perfect because they are in healthy regional malls in suburban cities, and Von Maur's style and customer-service emphasis is geared toward many of the same customers Jacobson's targeted.
``We're thrilled. It's just two great locations and great markets, and the sales potential is going to be limitless for us,'' von Maur said.
