Oct. 5--It pains Michael Golubski to think about the shipments of plastic pellets delayed on a California dock and held up in a Chicago rail yard instead of being en route to the Philippines and Taiwan.
The president of Maxi-Blast Inc., of South Bend, voices concern about potentially losing overseas business if he cannot reach the manufacturers that need his pellets by ocean freight. This is not the average discretionary product, like toys or apparel, held up by the West Coast port shutdown.
