How could a young man from such humble beginnings have such a gravitational impact not only on his own era, but also on generations of fans today, some of whom were born after his death? Moreover, who could have imagined this impact? Possibly only one visionary, who has been credited with the discovery of Elvis and whose vision indeed transformed the landscape of music and American culture for generations to come, could actually have grasped the impact of Elvis from the beginning.
