Several thousand students at the University of Oregon will still be in class when the sun goes down most of this year, and they'll be saving a few bucks in the process.
Registration for the UO's new late-afternoon schedule of lower-cost classes is getting a favorable response in the student marketplace: About 70 percent of the available seats were filled a week before fall term begins Monday. That's the same sign-up rate as for classes earlier in the day.
The extended class schedule is part of the UO's innovative response to sharply rising enrollment, falling state support and a campus space crunch. Students ...
