Oct. 8--The ground beef being recalled because of links to an E. coli outbreak in the Midwest has not caused any similar cases in Florida, the state health department said Monday.
The Florida Department of Health has not received any reports of E. coli cases linked to ground beef packed by a Wisconsin meat processor, said April Crowley, a department spokeswoman.
"We've been lucky," she said.
But Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin have not fared as well, with at least 40 E. coli cases linked to a Milwaukee packing plant operated by Emmpak Foods ...
