WASHINGTON _ Sen. Phil Gramm bid farewell to public service on Monday, announcing he's becoming an investment banker when he leaves the Senate in three months.
The Texas Republican said he had signed with one of the world's largest investment banks, UBS Warburg, to be its vice chairman and serve on its policy board.
"It will provide me an opportunity to practice what I've always preached," the former chairman of the Senate Banking Committee said, adding that the job was a good fit.
