BAMBOO IN THE GARDEN -- it's a phrase that sends shivers of delight up the spines of some gardeners, and shivers of fear up the spines of others.
Tales of bamboo taking over the garden are often repeated, but heard just as often are the praises of bamboo's beauty and usefulness. Northwest Gardens reader Tim Hinthorn switched his thinking about bamboo - as many gardeners have - after learning about it up close and personal.
